Director Profile
Dr. Niraj Gupta is the officiating director in Institute of Technology and Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell. Dr. Gupta received his education in Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Technology in Industrial Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. He completed his PhD in supply chain management from Integral University, Lucknow. His research focused on estimating handling time in retail stores in supply chain.
He has a unique blend of experience of teaching-Industry-Research of over 22 years. Previously he worked as a faculty at Integral University, IIMT, NIILM. He was a visiting faculty at the All India Management Association, New Delhi and Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. He has also worked at Festo, a German MNC. During his tenure at Festo, he has trained engineers and officials in field of pneumatic & eletropneumatic for various reputed companies like TATA Motors, Maruti, SAMTEL, Hero Honda etc. He also worked at Safexpress, New Delhi where he was heading Safe extension cell. He has also received advanced training at IIT Kharagpur & IIT Kanpur in the area of Quality & Supply Chain Management respectively.
He has worked in a consultancy project of Crompton Greaves, Premier Automobile Limited (PAL) & Garware Polyester Limited in the area of Productivity, Quality and Integrated Production & Distribution System respectively with Nagarwalla Consultant (P) Ltd., Mumbai . He has also worked in a DST sponsored project, “Technical back up in entrepreneurship development program” at IIT Delhi. He has conducted various short term courses for the teachers and industry practitioners on supply chain management and World Class Manufacturing.
In his earlier assignment at the university as a Dean, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Gupta was responsible for all academic operation of the department including planning, delivery, performance and quality management of teaching-learning-evaluation process. He was also involved in the designing of syllabus, academic instruction, ordinances (undergraduate and postgraduate).
His area of research Interest includes: Supply Chain Management, Quality & Operation Management related topics. He has supervised 10 dissertations of M.Tech. students. Currently, he is guiding 2 PhD fellows in the area of Employabilty and Knowledge Management. He has published 25 research papers and two book with Lambert Publication on ERP and Quality. Dr Gupta is a Fellow of Institute of Engineers (India).
