Overview
The objective of this three/ four-years undergraduate B.A. (Hons.) Political Science program is to create awareness among students about political system-International, National and Regional, along with various rights and duties of the citizens. SRMU is the ranked best B.A. (Hons.) Political Science College in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The course highlights political thought (both Indian and Western) and political theories, select constitutions of the world, and public administration and human rights, while strictly focussing on Indian constitution, Indian political thought, Indian administration, and local self-government.
It is a versatile program run with highly qualified and experienced faculty members with a focus on providing top-notch learning and research wherein the academic staff is committed to help students develop high-quality learning skills that will help them succeed in a variety of competitive exams, including those for the UPSC, PSC, UGC-NET, and JRF, among others. To introduce key concepts in politics to the students to sharpen their understanding of political discourses and the ability to make the scientific enquiry into the political phenomenon and political questions.
To develop a sound understanding of Political Science with the different meaning of politics and how is it interpreted differently by people holding different ideological positions.
To enable the students to understand the functioning of governments and political systems in comparative perspectives.
To acquaint the students to the solution finding process regarding political, social, ethical, cultural problems in the field and support the development of these values.
To conceive the interdisciplinary interaction which the field is related with and come up with original solutions.
To provide students a solid grounding in Indian politics where they study the extra-constitutional institutions, factors, and forces which influence the political discourses and decisions in the country.
Students will be able to develop knowledge of theories, concept and different principles in the field of Political Science.
