Overview

SRMU, the top-ranked university in Uttar Pradesh, offers a postgraduate two-year M.Sc. program in Chemistry. The program has been meticulously developed in compliance with NEP2020 specifications. After completing this curriculum, students will have a solid understanding of the principles and applications of chemistry. Projects, dissertations, seminars, and industry visits are all part of the curriculum. Modern tools and equipment are available in the chemistry laboratories, and a strong focus on practical learning is placed in the curriculum. In addition to signing Memorandums of Understanding with reputable organizations, the faculty hosts conferences, workshops, and webinars to further enhance the academic and research experiences of both students and instructors. We frequently invite well-known individuals to speak as special guests at conferences and seminars. The faculty members have broad and varied backgrounds in both teaching and research and come from respected national and international universities. They actively do research and have publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals. The faculty has a long list of published patents to their name.

Program Objectives
  1. To demonstrate broad knowledge of descriptive Chemistry.

  2. To impart the basic analytical and technical skills to work effectively in the various fields of chemistry.

  3. To motivate critical thinking and analysis skills to solve complex chemical problems, e.g., analysis of data, synthetic logic, spectroscopy, structure and modeling, team-based problem solving, etc.

  4. To demonstrate an ability to conduct experiments in the above sub-disciplines with mastery of appropriate techniques and proficiency using core chemical instrumentation and modeling methods.

  5. To demonstrate the ability to perform accurate quantitative measurements with an understanding of the theory and use of contemporary chemical instrumentation, interpret experimental results, perform calculations on these results and draw reasonable, accurate conclusions.

  6. To develop skills in quantitative modeling of static and dynamic chemical systems.

  7. To develop laboratory competence in relating chemical structure to spectroscopic phenomena.

  8. To demonstrate the ability to synthesize, separate and characterize compounds using published reactions, protocols, standard laboratory equipment, and modern instrumentation.

  1. Demonstrate core competence in various areas of chemistry be it classical, modern or applied chemistry.

  2. Apply chemistry skills and knowledge to the solution of theoretical and practical problems in chemistry.

  3.  Apply analytical, numerical, computational skill and subject knowledge to solve academic as well as in the problem at research level. 

  4. Demonstrate competence in different chemical laboratories.

  5. Apply knowledge of chemistry with integrative approach in diverse fields. 

  6. Acquire the presentation skill ability to communicate scientific information effectively.
